On Earth Day weekend 2017, the First Unitarian Church of Dallas held its own event on the church grounds. We had a table set up specifically to benefit the Rainforest Trust.

For a donation of $10 to the Rainforest Trust, a participant would be entered into a drawing for a 16×20 limited edition print. Plus, they would get an orchid note card (with an image of one of my orchid paintings) just for entering.

In a 3-hour period 25 people entered the drawing, bringing us to a total of $250 for the Rainforest Trust. It makes me so happy that through my art I can contribute to these important efforts of saving natural habitats.

I was not able to be there in person, having previously committed to an orchid show in Lake Charles, Louisiana.  But thanks to our very dear friend, Nancy Bateman, the raffle was a success. The winner will get a limited edition print of my latest painting.
