Summer in Texas is a very stressful time for orchids. Despite my best efforts, my poor plants are struggling. They are waiting for the cooler days which will be coming soon. Meanwhile, some of them have managed to bloom, despite this difficult time. Perhaps phalaenopses are more tolerant of heat, because everything that’s in bloom is of this type, with the exception of one glorious oncidium.
I have not yet identified the oncidium. It was given to me by a friend who was moving and had to dismantle his greenhouse. Now that this lovely lady is showing off her flowers, I will do some research and see if I can give her a proper ID.
