The race for the White House is failing to grapple with the key issues of the day, especially the urgent need to combat climate change before atmospheric changes become irreversible, a slice of the American electorate believes. Candidates should be much more explicit about their position on climate change, and should present a clear plan for how they would govern to meet this global emergency.  The Guardian why this is important.
